All things Celtic have risen in popularity recently. Celtic music, Celtic gowns, Celtic magic lend a little touch of history and heritage to your wedding. (Assuming you are Scottish or Irish and not, say, Bantu.)Whatever your heritage, a Celtic knot is a lovely symbol for a wedding. Though lots of people have lots of ideas as to what the ancient Celts might have intended by them, the Celts, not having a written language, didn't leave much behind to tell us. However, we modern folk with an eye to beauty and symbol can see a lot there.
The knot is unending, it's intertwined, it loops back on itself. It's not too big a stretch to see these designs as symbolizing eternity, love, interconnection, inter-dependence. It's not so surprising to see the knot appearing on wedding rings. All this loving symbolism, wrapped up in a beautiful, eye-catching piece of artistry. Just right for a wedding -- just right for a marriage!
