Yee-haw! A denim wedding dress that'll have you boot scootin'
Living in Oklahoma City, which is usually referred to just "the city" by folks outside of "the city," I rarely get an opportunity to witness a true-blue western wedding. Oh, and trust me – I've been to some pretty interesting ceremonies that involved anything from cheap champagne in a bathtub to karaoke set up in the middle of a grazing field with cows and horses.
And, I really don't think I'll ever forget the wedding I attended where the groom-to-be and his father were still building the wedding "gazebo" about five minutes before the bride was to walk down the, uh, well, aisle of something I pretended wasn't hay and horse dung. However, those scary memories aside, I have actually seen some beautiful gowns, like this one a friend of mine had purchased for her wedding over the summer.
For the bride who's proud to say she knows how to ride a horse, I thought this corset gown was exceptional for the hand-beaded detail and the gorgeous cathedral train. Also, my friend reports that the blue denim is not that heavy and was easy for her to move around in during her wedding.
Since I have trouble moving around in most of my jeans, I'll just have to trust her on that. But at $450 for a dress with so much detail (more than the site can really show), I'll say that's a bargain. And, who knows – the dress could end up being like your favorite pair of jeans. You know, the ones you wear when you want to be comfortable and still look amazing.
With the right hair-do and accessories, you could certainly turn a western wedding gown into a modern, fashion-forward dress that people will remember in a good way.

As someone from Oklahoma, I can honestly say that this travesty is not how all Okies want to look on their wedding day! What a joke! And, as for the bad weddings, I've been to quite a few in other states. In Florida, we went to a wedding where one of the groomsmen wore his work coveralls-including fresh auto grease! It's nice to see the hick stereotype being perpetuated in such a refreshing way.

This is quite possibly the ugliest dress I have ever seen. Just because it is made with plenty of detail doesn't mean it is attractive. Remember Britney Spear's denim dress from back in the days she was dating Justin Timberlake? That color of denim isn't even flattering.

LOL Ya know, that's actually a very pretty ::gulp:: denim ::twitch:: wedding dress. Would not be my pick, but its actually quite pretty. I halfway think the pristine white glove look ruins it though. To each his own. I can't imagine how hot and heavy that thing must be if it really is denim...yikes!

How unique. Great! A wedding should express your own personal look, whether in Oklahoma or California.

My friends had a Western Themed wedding (in New JERSEY), and the bride wore a white satin gown, with the western theme going on the bodice and sleeves, but the front of the dress was cut knee length and the back of the dress was floor length, to show off her white cowboy boots. She also wore a white cowboy hat. The entire bridal party looked ridiculous as well. Had they been in the Wild Wild West or something, the look would STILL be laughable. No wonder the groom got so drunk he had to be held up by three people so he could even toss the garter. THE worst looking wedding of all time - THE worst reception of all time as well.

I wouldn't wear it, but I don't think there is anything wrong with another person wearing it if she wanted to. I think it would be an option for a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th...) wedding when a white gown wouldn't be appropriate.

I don't think it is trashy at all. It is nice to see denim look elegant for a change.

Not surprised this is the thought process of someone from Oklahoma, midwest, or south. Now I would be surprised if someone from the East Coast, CHicago, California, or Seattle would say something like this.

Hey, now!!!...some people look great in denim. I was just thinking that this morning. I have less than perfect skin and hard to tame hair. I alos have blue eyes and a decent figure. If I put on neat tailored looking clothes my hair and skin stand out even worse. But something well styled and fitting nicely in denim looks great on me. The less than snobbish perfection look suits me better. I think denim is unjustly judged. No other fabric gets an automatic "you can't wear that" like denim. I think dress codes should be based on appropriate fit, clothing not being tattered or worn (for work), and suited for comfort for the work or activity. I've never been able to fathom why a dimpled fat woman with giant thighs and a butt with a shelf on top can wear stretch polyester pants to work and I can't wear a nice fitting pair of denim jeans.

why not use a white denim material instead of the blue.
