For the last few years, we've spent Thanksgiving with my folks--they're retired, and so a bunch of their friends who don't live near their kids come over as well. We spend actual Christmas Eve and Christmas at my in-laws, but do a separate Christmas celebration with my folks a few days earlier--it's just us in my family, so we can do it whenever we want. It works out really well for us, but we hope that when his parents retire, we can get EVERYONE together for these celebrations.
