No matter how laid back you try to be about your wedding there will be something -- the flowers or the table cloths or your divorced parents and their constant bickering -- that will push you over the edge, for at least a moment or two. Even if you are not normally someone who is detail-oriented and high-strung, the stress of wedding planning can turn you into that mythical creature, the Bridezilla.

No one likes a Bridezilla. But what's a bride to do?

How about hiring a coach to keep you sane?

Australian wedding planner Jennifer Rayner does just that as part of her normal planning services. Ms. Rainer talked with Adelaide Now about her services, particularly her role in keeping the bride sane. "The average wedding takes about 250 hours to plan, so it's understandable that brides can become stressed," she said. "That's why I'm there to take care of every possibility, tailor it specifically to their wedding and keep them relaxed and happy."

Keep that in mind when you're hiring a wedding planner; choose someone who not only has connections to vendors and locations but who you trust to help you manage the details, and who will be able to talk you down when you realize that the chairs are OFF white and not WHITE. Your wedding planner may be much more tolerant than friends and family of your Bridezilla behavior, and she will be able to offer concrete solutions to any problems that arise.

Just remember not to abuse your wedding planner. Because unlike friends and family, she can always quit.
