When it comes to most things, too much of a good thing is, er, not so good. This applies to wedding hairstyles too, and I've been a witness to some bridal don'ts that caused an instant gag reflex. This is one of them.
The only possible explanations for this atrocity of a hairstyle is that the stylist #1: was abducted by aliens, taken to their home planet where all the alien creatures wore this hairstyle and the stylist thought it could work back here on earth OR #2: they're stupid.
I'm not sure which explanation is correct, but I also partly blame the bride (or model) in the photo for actually allowing the styles to run amok with her hair. I don't want to start a non-profit for bad wedding hair, so JUST SAY NO.
In case you have any trouble fully viewing this monstrosity of an up-do, there are at least three different styles going on. We have the simple up-do, the sophisticated swept back bun, the weird twisty hair in the front, and a solid band of fake flowers to nicely segment the conflicting styles.
Ah! The worst part is that stylist probably charged a pretty penny to create this piece of horror. Am I off my rocker for hating this style?

i totally disagree with your opinion. this style looks lovely on the bride/model. you just have to appreciate it. in many cultures/community the 'twists' in the front is part of a regular salon visit not the i'm in jamaica on vacation nonsense that your stating. i think it's tasteful and different. the bun in the back could have been done a bit smoother though.
ReplyThe statement made on this hairdo is very ignorant and of poor taste. I admit the person before me that the bun/or end of the style could be different like completely covered with flowers, but the mere comment on this hairdo can be considered offensive to some cultures. If you don't understand it, or don't care for it for yourself just say so and leave it at that!!
ReplyEveryone's entitled to their opinions, and I took your comments to heart about my statement. Although I don't believe it would be offensive to any culture since it's more a statement about tourists, I changed it. If it did offend any reader, I apologize to you.
