South Africa is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful countries in the world and is a fabulous destination wedding venue.

In general South Africans are fun-loving and laid back and visitors almost always feel instantly at home. It's a big country too, so there's a lot to see and experience. You could have a truly memorable wedding and honeymoon there, if you planned it properly.

If you want to do everything in one place - ceremony, reception and honeymoon - then South Africa is a great option. A South African marriage is legally valid in any country in the world.

The exchange is extremely favourable to foreign visitors (the currency is the Rand and at the moment the rate is 1 US$ equals R6,80) and therefore makes it more than viable. The best season is from November to February, although in such a large country the climate does vary widely.

Hotels vary from basic to 5-star. The local cuisine, influenced by it's wide diversity of cultures, from Dutch to Indian to Malayasian, is fabulous.
