Every bride wants to look gorgeous on her wedding day. Being the center of attention and having your every move recorded for posterity will do that to a woman. There's no point in pretending you don't care; you'll only end up running to a salon for a last-minute fix (trust us, no good can come of this.) As the saying goes, Rome was not built in a day and your beauty makeover won't happen overnight either.

Here are five beauty routines you can start right now, so that you can be radiant and lovely on the Big Day:

1. Exercise and get enough sleep: I know, I know--BORING! But you know you need to do it. Crash diets are never a good idea. You don't want to faint during your first dance do you? And with sleep deprivation being almost epidemic nowadays most of us are familiar with the effect it has on your looks, never mind your psyche. There's even evidence that lack of sleep could cause weight gain. So getting your rest and getting your butt moving will kill two birds with one stone. Do it.

2. Visit a doctor: Seeing a dermatologist is an excellent idea especially if you suffer from acne or want to try some of the more effective cosmetic procedures. Just be sure to call and make your appointment TODAY; you may to wait for months before your first appointment and you need to factor in recovery time for any treatments they prescribe.

3. Stay out of the sun: One of the best things you can do for your skin is to stay out of the sun. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day (even in the winter) to protect it from the sun's damaging rays. This is especially important if you're being treated by a dermatologist--most of their treatments require you stay out of the sun or risk severe skin damage. Thankfully, suntans are out of style, but if you insist on bronzed skin give yourself plenty of time to practice applying self-tanners. Whatever you do, don't start experimenting a few days before the wedding - orange skin doesn't look on anyone.

4. Get your brows in shape:
Nothing will make you looked as polished and groomed as beautifully shaped brows. Get your brows professionally shaped at least three months before the wedding and return once a month for touch-ups. Misshaped brows need time to grow in correctly – find a stylist that will work with you to grow and trim them to perfection.

5. Treat yourself right:
A relaxed bride is a beautiful bride! Indulge in a massage or two in the busy weeks leading to the wedding. It's definitely a luxury but not necessarily a frivolous expense; massage therapy can help reduce stress, improve posture, boost your immune system and decrease anxiety. If you're a super-organized bride and have built some free time on your wedding day go ahead and book a massage – just be sure the therapist steers clear of your face and hair or risk makeup meltdown.
