Yes, really. The costume in the picture was made from a shower curtain. The seamstress is, I gather, an actor who also makes her own costumes. But I'm thinking, if she can make something this gorgeous from a shower curtain, you might see if she'd consider crafting an historic gown for your wedding. I mean, just THINK what she could do with a set of satin sheets!!

I am a sewer and certainly would have never even thought of doing something like that. It is wonderful, how dramatic. It looks so unique! Atta go, girl!

Wow what a mean little girl, what did you ask for Christmas? because your not getting it, oh by the way im in eighth grade but for you? even if you were an adult you still could not comprehend my smartness. thank you very much, and next time you want to criticize someone for expressing they're feelings, think twice. because in the end it was over a DRESS.

A dress out of shower curtains? How comfortable is it? Will one easily perspire wearing a dress made from shower curtains than say a dress made from other fabrics?

#7 LOL!! Rollando: Go wrap yourself in yours for about an hour or so and see!! Let me know the results!! Remember though that you have to walk around in it the whole time to build up heat!
Merry Christmas ( or Happy Holidays if you don't celebrate it).
Have a safe and Happy New Year too!

Personally, I think she did a wonderful job! I used to DRAW dresses from that era BECAUSE I think they were beautiful.
Kristen, these kinds of dresses were actually a work of art. This particular dress is from the 1600's and was the kind of dress which would have been worn by Queen Elizabeth I ( Not the Queen who is now reigning ) LOL!!
Ruby, You aren't making yourself sound any more intelligent than Kristen. She expressed her opinion of this kind of fashion. That's her right. Calling her an idiot for it makes you sound equally as bad. My question to you is, what grade are YOU in this year?

You are absolutely right, just because some things are not your taste it does not mean in not beautiful. Remember "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" To me is very ingenious and clever on how something like this, come out of a shower curtain. It shows a lot of ingenuity. Instead of knoking it we should praise it.

I've never particularly cared for the dresses worn during that time period, but I can certainly appreciate the time, effort, and skill involved in creating something like this - that's what makes it amazing to me.
And if you don't like it, can't you just give your opinion with a little tact and a bit of respect? No one says everyone has to like it... just be little more considerate.
