Alright, ladies the results of the poll are in, and it turns out that the majority of us played at least a tiny role in our own proposals.Only about 25% of you said you were taken TOTALLY by surprise, and had no idea it was coming. What I'd love to find out from you, if any of you are reading this follow-up, is how long you'd been dating, and how long you plan to be engaged.
Over half of you said you'd talked about it with your boyfriends and so, even though you hadn't discussed the proposal specifically, you felt like you'd kind of given him the go-ahead. This is the group I fell into -- we had at least talked about getting married, you know, in the future, so I know I helped him along even though I was TOTALLY surprised when it actually happened!
About 15% of you said you'd been dropping major hints for months, like leaving pictures of diamond rings around the house. And, yahoo! He figured it out!
And finally, a couple of you proposed yourself, and good for you. I don't have anyway to know whether the respondents were male or female, but either way, I have a lot of respect for anybody willing to pop the question. Scary stuff!
