Maybe, after the big day, you're going to give your gown to your sister or your cousin who's getting married next year. Maybe you'll be selling it. Maybe you'll even be trashing it.

But just maybe you know you want to have it preserved. If you're preserving it just to have the memory in that pretty box, read no further. If you envision your daughter wearing it some day, you'd be wise to consult with the company before you purchase your gown. Not all fabrics preserve equally well. If the gown has sequins or beading, they may tarnish and/or damage the fabric after long-term storage. If it's very important to you to have a beautiful gown in 20 years, check with the experts before you buy something that will disappoint down the road.
