Why brides in Oklahoma hope for rain

Here in the middle of the U.S. there's a jewelry store that's rising to some level of notoriety for its unique marketing ideas, not the least of which is this catchy Christmastime jingle that Megan Mullally actually sang for Jay Leno. Well, this store, BC Clark, also has brides praying for rain on their wedding day. Why? Because if you buy your engagement ring at their store and it rains or snows an inch or more on your wedding day, they will pay for your ring (up to $5,000)! Actual number of days it rains in Oklahoma: about 77. Chance of winning: 21%.

My best friend got married on a rainy day in Oklahoma back in 2005 and she DIDN'T get her ring from B.C. Clark. The poor thing had to listen to about 100 people at her reception tell her that if she had gotten her ring there, it would have been paid for.
