Having favors for your guests is a tradition that most brides want to incorporate into their wedding but how do you get it right? There are so many gorgeous goodies available that making the right choice can be very difficult. Here's a few pointers to help you:

1. Think about your wedding theme and plan your favors around that. Also keep in mind any colours that you'd associate with the theme. A beach theme, for example, might incorporate navy blue, white and pale green.

2. Look around for all sorts of favors that reflect both the theme and signature colours. Just list them all at this stage, don't make any decisions yet.

3. Then, look at your budget and eliminate any items that exceed your price range.

4. Take into consideration your personal taste and whittle out those favors that you just don't like.

5. Think about your guest list and throw out any favors that you think may just end up in the bin for the majority of the guests. If you're having children at the wedding, then consider them too and perhaps have special favors just for the kids.

6. Finally, buy a few samples of the favors you really like and display them on a table so that you can see the visual impact they'll have. Choose the favors that best represent your theme and your personality.

Remember, you don't have to buy your favors. If your passion is jam-making, for example, then why not bottle up small jars of your favorite jams. Anything that you love doing, and do well, can be given as a favor, and chances are it will be doubly appreciated by your guests.
