George W. Bush, father of the bride (and already cracking inappropriate jokes)
Well, his term is winding down, and it appears Dubbya has taken the focus off the country and placed it on his daughter's impending nuptials by making jokes about the wedding. That's fine -- all fathers joke about their daughters' weddings, no big deal, right? Right, except that President Bush's jokes are knee-slappers like this:
"I had to face some very difficult spending decisions and I've had to conduct sensitive diplomacy ... That's called planning for a wedding."
And he's telling these jokes in places like the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the National Republican Congressional Committee dinner (at which he said first lady Laura Bush couldn't make it because she was busy wedding planning).
I'm sure Jenna and fiance Henry Hager are thrilled, seeing as how they've opted to hold the wedding not at the White House but at the Bush's ranch, ostensibly to avoid some of the national and international attention. Let's all hope he doesn't tell the wrong joke to the wrong crowd. I think we know that not everybody share's Dubbya's sense of humor.

I have to say, if you want to hear some actually FUNNY Father of the Bride jokes, you should get this book I bought for my dad for this Father's Day"
"8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter"
It's by one of my favorite writers, W. Bruce Cameron, who also wrote the book "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," which became a TV show where John Ritter played W. Bruce Cameron.
Anyway, I'm a huge fan of Cameron's and so is my dad. He's been feeling a little cranky about the wedding (in December, I hope he calms down by then) but I think it's mostly because he thinks nobody is good enough for me.
