Of course there's a lot of talk about affairs going on with Eliot Spitzer in the news. What is it about men in positions of power and extramarital affairs? The Art of Manliness talks about ways you can affair-proof your marriage. It's written with men in mind, but women can take some ideas away from it, too.

Here are four ideas to get you thinking:

Keep dating. Marriage doesn't mean the end of your fun. It can be the beginning. Having a ring doesn't preclude fun. Make time for each other. Go out to dinner or the movies. Try new things, too. Keep things interesting and you won't look around for something else to do.

Sex it up.
Men and women are usually happier when their sex life is good. Do what you can to make time for each other. It's a great stress reliever. And if you're happy at home, you're less likely to stray.

Commonality, man. Find hobbies or other things that you can do together. While we all need some alone time once in a while, doing things together helps strengthen your relationship. Play golf. Go fishing. Shoot some arrows or some hoops. Even go shopping (did I lose the men there?) together. Find something that's more interesting than sitting silently in front of the tube. (Now if you actually discuss what you're watching, that's not as bad.)

Honor and duty. You made a promise when you married and for most people that includes fidelity. Be a (wo)man of your word and honor your vows.

There are many more ways to keep an affair at bay. What are you best tips for keeping your marriage faithful?

Have your fiancé insure your engagement ring as soon as he picks it up. Something can happen to it even before he slips it on your finger. Learn More
