When I was in college, my freshman roommate and I took $20 to the local Dollar Tree and bought all the dishes we would need for our room that year. The store had some quality stuff, and while you'd never mistake it for Waterford, no one knew our dishes were from the dollar store. And guess what -- I still have those dishes.

I'm not saying you should pick out your wedding china at the Dollar Tree, but you could get some of your wedding decor there. For instance, at a dollar a pop, you can get vases for your centerpieces, wine glasses and other dishes for your DIY reception, whole packages of candles, and lots of other DIY crafty goodness at bargain basement prices.
