Shadow boxes are a craft that began in the Victorian era. Wealthy women with lots of time and little to entertain them would clutter their already cluttered homes with mementos, memorabilia, and sentiment. (The Victorians were big on sentimental clutter.)You may not be Victorian, but you may still appreciate this way of preserving some special memories. Part treasure box, part photo album, shadow boxes are scrapbooks in 3D. A shadow box is essentially a deep frame, fronted with glass. Most modern shadow boxes are backed by a cork board, so you can not only attach pictures, but pin just about any small memento. More traditional shadow boxes have shelves inside for small items.
Dried flowers, your garter, the invitation, a special picture, a piece of lace, a glove, his cufflinks ... you are limited only by your imagination. Perhaps you can create two: one for the wedding, and one for the honeymoon! But that's probably enough: you don't want to get too Victorian.
