It's not a small decision, especially if you're on a limited budget. But for many brides affording a wedding planner buys them less stress and more peace of mind, quality of life attributes that can't be expressed in mere dollars and cents (not to mention that some brides feel like their wedding planner actually saved them money). In this thread at weddingwire.com, many of the brides speak in support of having the planner to handle the nitty gritty. Perhaps it's really a personal choice: if you're someone who enjoys planning events and is not thrown off by last minute snafus, you might be good on your own. If you're the opposite kind of gal, the wedding planner may indeed be priceless.
