If weddings at the National Cathedral were available to anyone who wanted them, there wouldn't be time for any of the cathedral's regular services or tours! There are strict requirements for anyone who wishes to marry at the National Cathedral, so before you start daydreaming about walking down those aisles, make sure you can meet at least one of these guidelines:
- Either the bride, groom, or an immediate family member is a prominent donor to the cathedral or has made a significant contribution as a volunteer.
- The bride or groom is an alumnus of one of the cathedral schools (Beauvoir, National Cathedral School for Girls, or Saint Albans School for Boys), or is the child under 30 years of age of an alumnus.
- The bride, groom, or immediate family member has been a member of the staff of the cathedral for at least two years at the time of application.
For all the teenage girls who fantasize about a National Cathedral wedding, maybe now is a good time to start volunteering!
