It was started in 1884 by a Greek immigrant named Sotirios Vulgaris (he later changed his name to Bulgari) and the flagship store (pictured above) opened in Rome in 1905. Bulgari jewelry is not for the meek - it's a greco-roman fantasy of precious metals and large stones.
