From the We Sure Hope this is True files: rumor has it that Queen Latifah and Jeannette Jenkins are planning to get married, joining a long list of Hollywood celebrities rushing to tie the knot in the wake of California's legalization of gay marriage. Latifah has been notoriously tight-lipped about her relationship with Jenkins, who she has been dating for five years, and while Cele|bitchy speculates that this may be to protect her high-profile advertising deals, we like to think that the Queen is just a private person, and doesn't need to have her business all over the news.
And yes, we are aware of the irony of reporting about the possible engagement of a celebrity who likes to keep her personal business personal, but we're just so happy for them; we see a lot of celebrities who get all caught up in the fancy Hollywood hype, particularly when a wedding is involved, and it's nice to see the opposite.
The couple are reported to be planning a small ceremony for family and close friends. Latifah has also talked publicly about her desire to adopt a baby; we are hopeful that this will be the beginning of a long and happy family life for her and Jenkins.

Oh, I hope this is true -- she seems like such a lovely person, so if the Queen's happy, I'm happy.
I think Latifah has so much class as a person, celebrity, entertainer ( Im not real familiar with her music).
Latifah, although it SEEMS like the general public are ready to accept same sex marriage/ joining, the are not. I hope you have all the money saved that you need in the coming years.

That is such a shame. Ive lost all respect for her and will never watch another one of her movies or reruns of her tv show again. No wonder it was a secret for so long, if Black people knew she was gay, she would be been lost all respect in the community.
Christine, like you, I can only hope this isn't true. But friends and relatives are saying it is. I've told them that if it is, I will not support her ever again by watching her shows, movies, or anything else that she has ties to. She has let me down in a way that pises me the *&%#@! off!!! It's the same reason I don't watch ellen degineres show! I've never have and never will, no matter what guess is on her show!!

I hope this turns out not to be true so she can sue whoever started this. If her business is so private and then why would you know what's going on. I'm sure she has not told anyone least of all some nobody reporter who only reports silly gossip and pure crape.
Although I never knew (or cared) that Latifah is gay, I have nothing but respect for her as a person. Love is hard to find, so when you find it, go for it.
For Christine, who "lost all respect" for Latifah simply because she is gay, grow up. Sexual orientation is nothing to be ashamed of. If you love someone, it shouldn't matter if they are of the same or opposite gender, if they make you happy that is all that matters.
By the way, are you happy with your love life? It sounds as if you are bitter and jealous because Latifah is happy and you are not.
Latifah, is a beautiful woman and to be respected for her accomplishments, not put down for who she chooses to love.

On behalf of Christine, no one is jealous or envyous of latifah, Christine is simply responding as any normal thinking human being would. Gayisum is not natural nor is accepted by God. There is reason why man and woman were made and it's not for the same sex. And when same sexrelations occurs, it's a deviation from the natural order of life itself..you don't see animals having same sex relationships and humans suppose to be on a higher intellectual scale. But unfortunately, animals have better sense than some damn human beings...

I'm a black woman and I don't even believe you've said this. As black people we need to stand up for minorities - black, latino, asian, gay - they've all been persecuted. How can you, a person who's ancestors were victims or racism, be so willing to hate??? This is an ignorant comment. The black community (and white, and asian and latino, and straight communities) love and respect QL and will continue to do so whether she marries her lover or not. You're a jerk.
