Alphabet shower

This open-ended shower theme is good for guests who know the bride and groom well, and don't need a whole lot of direction. In their invitation, each guest is assigned a letter of the alphabet, and must bring a gift starting with that letter. You could serve alphabet cookies made in the initials of the couple, and give out key chains with the guest's initials as favors.S could be soap, sheets, silverware or screwdrivers; L could be lace, linens, liquorice, lathe -- the only limitation is the guest's imagination. Well, imagination and a few particularly tricky letters. Maybe you won't want to be assigning anyone "X" ...
