Kate Middleton gets official and her mom gets an invite from the Queen
Filed under: Celebrity Relationships, Celebrity
Each week it seems Kate Middleton and Prince William are inching closer and closer to announcing an engagement. This week is no exception (and it's only Wednesday!).The latest reports have Kate attending Prince William's installation as Royal Knight of the Garter -- this was the first time she had attended "a formal and official Royal public occasion," and she was all smiles and she stood next to her possible future brother-in-law, Harry. She arrived in an official car and then joined the Royal family.
Additionally, Kate's mother has reportedly received an invitation to meet the Queen in the Royal box at Ascot on Ladies' Day during this week's race meeting. Should the Mrs. Middleton accept, it would be the first official meeting between the Queen and Kate's mom.
Kate's mom has been the source of some discussion, especially when Kate and Wils broke up last year. It was rumored that the Queen liked Kate and her father well enough, but that Kate's mother didn't quite fit and was seen as a motivated social-climber. Whether there's any real truth to those rumors or not, it's obvious enough that Kate and Wils are progressing forward in their relationship, and we're all just waiting for the engagement announcement (and pictures of the ring, of course).
