Great gifts for geeks, hand-picked by Download Squad
Wedding planners. Not the human kind, but the paper kind. Some brides prefer spreadsheets, some prefer online, and some prefer good old-fashioned binders. (Which could easily include spreadsheets, come to that.)

You can purchase a wedding planner, of course, but if you want to save yourself a little money and get something that's perfectly tailored to your needs, it's not that complicated to make one of your own.

You'll need a sturdy binder, at least two inches thick. You'll need several tabbed dividers for categories such as Budget (this is where the spreadsheet will come in handy!), Reception, Music, Venue/Officiant, Caterers, Cake, Gown, Bridesmaids, Photography/Videography, Invitations, Groomsmen, Gifts (for the attendants, not for you). You may need others, depending on your wedding.

You'll also need to include storage for business cards and samples. It's a simple matter to buy plastic sheets of pouches the right size for business cards. For fabric swatches and other such samples, how about manilla envelopes with holes punched in them to fit right in the binder?

Spend a little time browsing the planning book options. Incorporate the features you particularly like, ignore those you don't, and in short order you can have the perfect planner for your celebration.
