well when my wife and I got married in 04 we really weren't keen on topping the whole reception for people to watch us dance for extended periods of time. So what we did was went with What a wonderful world and started out by calling my wife and her dad as well as me and my mom to the floor. We danced for a minute then the DJ Brought up my Father to dance with my sister and Her Brother to dance with her mom and some other very close family were brought up. This way we did that whole thing everyone got their dances and it only took one song.

What a great idea! I wish I'd thought of it. My husband's very shy about dancing, so rather than that big extended ordeal, we didn't do any of them at all. This would have been a good compromise.
