I'm sorry--this is just tacky. If you can't pony up the dough for your own reception, simple: scale back your wedding plans. You'll be just as married as you would be if you had a $100K budget, you just won't have the reception. If someone offers to have a reception for you after-the-fact, fine. If not, why not have a dessert reception instead-you could purchase a variety of desserts from your local grocery store or bakery. People generally love sweets and it's dirt cheap to do. Forego the wedding cake and put out a table of different cakes. Or have a backyard BBQ for God's sake. Just don't ask someone to foot the bill because you can't afford to. They're your GUESTS, not your SERVANTS!
