The groom, a screenwriter, had the idea of using the song in a comedy scene in which a trailer-trash couple shoot guns at each other, but the opportunity never came up. While planning their wedding, he wanted to include the song in some way.
"The funny dance has become a wedding staple. Ashlee was initially turned off by the idea, but when we developed a story for it, she was totally into it," Tom tells aisledash.com.
The groom asked three friends to get in on the song-and-dance routine, which was developed into a skit in which the three strangers kidnap the bride, and the groom chases after them to save her.
