Chelsea Clinton Wedding: The Tents Are Up!

Take a close look now, because air space will be closed above Astor Courts on July 31st during Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky's wedding.

The FAA has declared that a restriction has been placed over the Rhinebeck, NY estate due to VIP (Very Important Person) Movement. We're assuming the VIPs are Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton.

The restriction will be from 3pm Saturday through 3:30am Sunday.

FAA spokesman Jim Peters said the decision to restrict air space was made in consultation with other agencies. He would not confirm if the Secret Service requested the restriction.

The FAA website says the restriction will be in place for "VIP (Very Important Person) Movement" but did not elaborate.

Below are aerial shots taken of Astor Courts earlier this week, where tent companies have begun constructing several tents for the wedding of the former First Daughter to banker, Marc Mezvinsky.

Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky are set to say "I do" at Astor Courts in Rhinebeck, NY on Saturday, July 31st. Built in 1904 for John Jacob Astor IV by Stanford White, the secluded property over looks the Hudson River and was recently renovated.

The couple's wedding planner, Boston-based Bryan Rafanelli, is overseeing the details of the wedding. Jeff Leatham, who designed the flowers for Eva Longoria's 2007 wedding to Tony Parker is designing the weddings flowers.

For the wedding a number of tents will be constructed for the ceremony, reception, kitchen and staging areas. The Clintons have selected tents with glass walls. The cost of constructing tents includes tenting, flooring, temperature control (air conditioning), service tents (kitchen, staging, staff areas) and transportation.

While the wedding itself will most likely last a total of 6-8 hours, it will take days for everything to be assembled.

In addition to setting up tents for the ceremony and reception, the caterers (Olivier Cheng and The St. Regis) will create kitchens as well as staging and staff areas.
