The proud parents, Bill and Hillary Clinton, released a statement that their daughter married Marc Mezvinsky on Saturday, July 31 at Astor Courts in New York's Hudson Valley.
The statement said, "Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends."
"We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well wishes on this special day."
The bride wore a Vera Wang wedding dress, her mother, Hillary Clinton, wore an Oscar de la Renta evening gown.
The guest list didn't include many of the stars of Hollywood rumored to have been invited. The group of 400 family and friends did include: Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Madeleine Albright, Steven Bing and a number of congressman - including NY Representative Anthony Weiner -- and prominent Democrats.
Photos of the newlyweds is expected to be released later this evening.
