Michael Ballack, the German footballer who plays for UK team, Chelsea, married Simone Lambe, his partner of ten years, (yes, TEN years) in Germany yesterday. We wonder what took them so long? The couple already have three children but that didn't stop them from having a huge, sophisticated and glitzy wedding. (Can any footballer ever get married without an enormous sprinkling of glitz-dust?)

The wedding colour was an exquisitely pretty cornflower blue. We love the super-glamorous bridesmaids dresses in blue satin, with loads of heavy crystal embellishments.

The bride wore a beautiful, figure-hugging dress, lavishly studded with crystals, and adorned with loads of sexy feathery detail, including a stylish feathered shoulder strap. This is definitely a grown-up's version of a little girl's fairytale gown.

If you like the idea of adorning your wedding dress with a few feathery details, check out the gallery below for inspiration.

Just two days before his 33rd birthday, Black Eyed Peas band member Taboo married his girlfriend, Jaymie Dizon, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Pasadena, California. And, you know how you have to decide which of your work friends are invited to your wedding? Taboo had to make those kinds of choices regarding his co-workers -- his Black Eyed Peas bandmates.

Fortunately, the group is really tight, and apl.de.ap and will.i.am both served as groomsmen for Taboo. The only remaining Pea, Fergie, was there as a guest, accompanied by her fiance, Josh Duhamel.

Now that members of the group are all pursuing solo projects, we wondered whether they were still as close as they were a couple of years ago, but this seems to show that there's no doubt. Here's wishing Taboo and Mrs. Taboo much happiness and many years of fabulous costume changes. Though the rapper does tend to go with some funky, different looks on stage -- see the gallery -- he looked absolutely dapper for the nuptials. Still, we'd LOVE to see what went down on the dance floor at the reception!

Shortly after taking out a marriage license with his very pregnant fiancee, Ethan Hawke has, once again, gone off the market. His rep has confirmed that the actor married Ryan Shawhughes in a private ceremony last month.

The wedding took place in New York, and was very intimate, but no other details have been given out. A source close to the couple has said, however, that they're likely to have a larger celebration, including all their friends and family, after the baby is born (Ryan is due with the couple's first child, a daughter, later this summer).

The wedding news comes not long after the announcement that Ethan's ex-wife and mother of his two children, Uma Thurman, is engaged to Swiss financier Arpad Busson (and sporting a rock that's too big to "fit through the sleeve of her coat").
Isla Fisher might have dared her Wedding Crashers co-stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson to crash her wedding, but she's going to have to set a date, first. She and fiance Sacha Baron Cohen have put their wedding plans on hold pending her complete conversion to the Jewish faith.

Isla has reportedly been working at her studies on Judaism part-time, but is far from being finished, and they're not tying the knot until knows more about her new faith. Both Isla and Sacha are working on films -- he, on Bruno, while she's wrapping up Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Sources say this is putting a bit of strain on the relationship between the petite redhead and her soon-to-be in-laws, but she's committed to Sacha and their daughter, Olive, and isn't about to be scared off.

We would be nothing but disappointed if Cher found herself some boring old businessman to settle down with and marry. Fortunately, we don't have to worry -- the 62 year old is reportedly set to marry Tim Medvetz, a motorcycle customizer more than 20 years her junior.

Her rep recently denied that the diva had already married in a quickie Vegas ceremony, saying, "She isn't even in Vegas at the moment. Cher promised me if she ever got married again, I could be the flower girl." She also denied that Cher had made her groom sign a $600 million pre-nup.

Some speculate that the marriage will take place later this year, when Cher returns to Vegas to resume headlining her show, which alternates with Bette Midler's Vegas spectacular. All we can say is that we hope, hope, HOPE that Bob Mackie designs the wedding gown!
Olivia Newton-John, best known for her starring role in Grease, has found the one that she wants -- she married her boyfriend, John Easterling, in a small wedding at her Malibu, California home.

Guests were invited to a Fourth of July barbecue at Olivia's home, and were surprised when the couple let them know that it was actually their wedding day. The nuptials nearly had to be postponed when a brushfire broke out nearby, but Olivia wasn't about to let anything interfere with her plans.

This is the second marriage for Olivia, who divorced her first husband in the mid 1990s after he had an affair, and three years ago she was devastated when her boyfriend of nine years went missing on a fishing trip off the California coast. We can't blame her for not wanting to wait for happiness!
Alejandra de Bourbon, a lesser member of the Spanish royal family, (daughter of Alfonso de Bourbon, the second cousin of King Juan Carlo) got married to Bosco Ussia on the 21st June. Alright, we admit it; we don't know all that much about the lesser European royals and so this is one wedding that almost slipped under our radar.

What brought it to our attention was the bride's fabulous wedding dress. Just look at it.

A gorgeous, 1920's-inspired Chanel concoction.

Every detail of her outfit is perfect. The loose unconstructed style, the floaty fabric, a dropped waist, that pretty, tasseled belt, and those luxurious, long ropes of pearls around her neck. Then there's that long, flowing veil with the close-fitted headpiece. All of it is utterly enchanting, absolutely Twenties.

We love it and hold it up as the perfect dress for any bride wanting to invoke the romance and nostalgia of the 1920's, yet with a modern and contemporary edge.
When Loni Anderson was just 17 years old and working as a model (and a brunette, no less), she met Bob Flick, the bass player for folk band Brothers Four, when she was sent by the local paper for a fan photo op. The two instantly fell for one another, and they dated for six months, but then went their separate ways.

Over the last 45 years, the blond bombshell has taken three trips down the aisle (and three trips to divorce court), but when she and Bob reconnected five years ago, she got the same butterflies she had when they were young and first in love. Loni was in Bob's hometown for a charity event and decided to look him up.

They married on May 17, which was 45 years from the day they first met. Their wedding cake had their first posed picture together on it, and the couple looked ecstatic. Considering it took so long for them to get to this point, we wish them enormous amounts of happiness and joy.
When Bette Midler married Martin von Haselberg back in 1984, they had a hasty Las Vegas wedding. Bette said, "We were married in the Starlight Chapel in Las Vegas by an Elvis impersonator. We never got any wedding pictures."

Apparently, however, pictures were taken, and she has just now received them. The Starlight Chapel recently closed down, and the owner sent the pictures to Bette and Martin. The couple has been happily married now for over two decades, and were "shocked" to receive the pictures after all this time.

Well, better late than never, we suppose, but now we're quite curious as to whether the chapel tracked down any other couples who never got pictures. It would've been easy to find Bette -- she's currently starring in The Showgirl Must Go On in Vegas, but probably not so easy to find most folks after all that time!

Apparently, there is someone who can have-a de Mango -- Chris Kattan married model Sunshine Tutt last Saturday in an environmentally friendly wedding set at California's Yosemite Valley.

The couple has been engaged for a year and a half -- Chris proposed to Sunshine on Christmas Eve, 2006, at her grandmother's home. Their wedding was green right from the get-go, with invitations made of flower seed paper that the guests could plant in their gardens.

Some of Chris' former Saturday Night Live castmates were on hand to witness the nature-inspired nuptials, including Will Farrell, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, and Amy Poehler. The affair has been described as environmentally friendly, but what we really want to know is what went down on the dance floor!
Salma Hayek announced her engagement to Francois-Henri Pinault last year, but rumors about the type of wedding the couple is planning haven't surfaced until now, and it sounds like this is going to be The Wedding to go to!

Francois-Henri says that it took him over a year to convince Salma to marry him, and now that she has agreed, he is sparing no expense. As the French boss of several main fashion houses (Gucci, Yves St. Laurent, and Balenciaga), he certainly has the money to give Salma whatever she wants, and apparently, what she wants is a five-day celebration in St. Tropez.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi appear to have a venue and date selected for their much anticipated nuptials. The couple hasn't signed a contract yet, but it's reported that they have decided on the Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs.

Some sources are saying the wedding will take place in October, which is when the hotel plans to have completed the $70 million renovation project. There are tropical gardens on the premises, which is where Ellen and Portia plan to swap vows, and the reception is to be held in the grand ballroom.

Ellen announced her wedding plans on her talk show in May after the gay marriage ban was lifted in California. She gave Portia a $60,000, three-carat pink diamond ring in celebration of their official engagement, and Portia reportedly intends to take Ellen's last name after they're married.

From the first time we saw him on American Idol, we just had a feeling that Ruben Studdard would find himself a sweet girl to cuddle up with and settle down -- he just has that look about him. It turns out that we were right -- the singer is getting married this weekend in his home state of Alabama, and it sounds like it's going to be quite the affair.

Ruben, 29, will swap vows with Surata Zuri McCants, 30, today at Canterbury United Methodist Church in the swanky Birmingham neighborhood of Mountain Brook. He'll have plenty of support -- People reports that he'll have at least 20 groomsmen, dressed identically in black Joseph Abboud tuxedos from a local outfitter. No word on whether Surata will have an equal number of bridesmaids. Or if there will be anyone left to sit in the pews.

Ruben and Surata met in 2006 when she took a CD into the local Wal-Mart where Ruben was doing a CD signing. It was actually not even for her -- it was for a friend -- but Ruben was so struck by her beauty that he tracked her down in the toy department and got her digits.
This week, with the Wimbledon tennis tournament in full swing, England is staggering under the weight of the top names in tennis . However, there may just be a mass exodus this weekend as famous names head off to the Bahamas to attend the wedding of former tennis World Champion Chris Evert to Australian golfer Greg Norman.

The couple are having a very private, evening beach wedding at The One and Only Ocean Club Hotel (featured as a set in the most recent James Bond movie Casino Royale) on Paradise Island. That is, private in the sense that no media has been invited to record the wedding.

Earlier this week Norman's security staff detained an Australian TV crew. They were released after being warned against taking any sneak photos of the proceedings, with the threat that they would be 'nabbed' should any pictures appear in the media.

The bridal couple will be exchanging their vows in front of about 400 guests. The guest list is an impressive one including famous figures such as Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr as well as a slew of former tennis champions. Jimmy Connors, Evert's former fiancee is expected to be there, as well as Anna Kournikova, Lindsay Davenport, Martina Navratilova and other celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Kenny Loggins and Chevy Chase.

It will be a lavish wedding and estimates are that it has cost the couple more than $1 million. We hope that we get to see at least one picture of the bride's dress, if nothing else!

European royalty is laying on the weddings thick and fast with yet another engagement in their lofty ranks.

Archduchess Marie-Christine of Luxembourg, the great-grandchild of Emperor Karl and Empress Zita, will be marrying Count Rodolphe of Limburg Stirum, the son of Count Christian of Limburg Stirum and countess Colienne d'Oultremont.

If all those impressive titles make your tongue twist and your eyes pop out you are not alone, and it doesn't end there either.

The 23-year old bride-to-be is a descendant of the deposed Hapsburg dynasty and her mother, Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg, is the sister of the ruling Grand Duke Henri. The groom is from an illustrious dynasty dating back to the ninth century. His late uncle was married to Princess Helene of France.

All those names and ranks are rather muddling in this modern era, aren't they? And the couple look like just another 21st-century couple too, albeit with a more than a dash of elegance. They look good together and Marie-Christine will certainly be a beautiful bride.

The couple are having a winter wedding in Mechelen, Belgium, where the bride's family is now based, The marriage will take place on the 6th December, which is an important date on the Belgian calendar, being St Nicolas Day.

It should be an glittering yet elegant affair, oozing class and style, and one we are looking forward to.
