With the nicer weather, more people are hitting our trails and open spaces, but so are the thieves! Break-ins have been occurring at many open spaces and trailheads, including Red Rock Canyon. Lock your cars and take your valuables with you (or leave them at home).

Parks Initiative. The Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is soliciting input on your experience with dogs off leash or with aggressive dogs. They want to quantify the problem and then look at specific actions needed to mitigate the problem. : E-mail them:
Local ordinances require dogs to be leashed on city and county trails and in the parks unless they are in a designated off-leash area. Dog owners are also required to remove dog waste.
Hike and Bike Ride at Chico Basin Ranch, May 17. It's a rare opportunity to visit the ranch. It's a Day of Adventure on the Prairie.
