Celebrate Earth Day EVERY day with Green Daily!

A sophisticated option for your bridesmaids, the Jackie O by Black Halo is a slim shift dress with the added interest of geometric short sleeves and a sexy cowl neckline. It's perfect for a dressy daytime wedding, particularly if the wedding is happening at a courthouse and is followed by a lunchtime reception at a gourmet restaurant.

C'est si bon!

The Garconne, by Parisian designer Cymbeline has a certain je ne sais quoi that made it stand out from the collection of tres chic gowns from that designer - it must be the unorthodox pairing of heavy fabric and airy lace that gives the impression that the whole thing was put together on a whim. Ah, nobody does layers like the French!

I'm pretty sure that a dress with a full tulle skirt and a a sweetheart neckline is not considered the height of fashion. It's a delicate thing, in charming shades of ivory and cream, and it will make the wearer feel like a girl rather than a fashionista.

But I don't care.

The Mariah by Lara Helene is a frilly, twirly, playful thing and it has charmed me. Perhaps you're charmed by it as well?

Nanette Lepore may be as American as apple pie, but her Jacqueline dress has all the kittenish appeal of that most Parisian of outfits: The Little Black Dress.

Sophisticated dolman sleeves and all-over draping sensuously hug every curve and the deep front and back V-neckline show just enough flesh to keep things interesting. Let your bridesmaids wear this and make them feel like they're part of the beau monde.

The Marlene by Kenneth Pool is a gorgeous trumpet gown with a unique pleated bodice and hemline that are gorgeous on their own, but add intricate beaded details and you have a real show stopper. In touchably soft silk duchess satin - because there's no need for scratchy fabric even when you can wow them from afar.

This gown by Tara Keely is the result of the unlikely marriage of two of the hottest trends in bridal silhouettes: The mermaid gown and the bubble skirt. Surprisingly, it works! The whole thing reminds us (in a good way) of Venus rising from the waves.

The dress is made of Silk Shantug and has a strapless sweetheart neckline. The waist is accented with an Alecon lace band tied with contrasting ribbon for a sweet touch.

Valentino may have retired in January, but his romantic designs and love for all that is feminine are obvious in his collection for Pronovias. The Metis is a stunner that envelops the bride in in sensuous lace from the sheer 3/4 sleeves to the wide lace hemline. The fitted bodice with a bateau neckline has all the beauty of traditional femininity but with the drama and glamour that modern brides desire.

This dress is from the 21st Century Princess collection by Henry Roth, and we have to agree - this is a dress fit for a modern princess. The voluminous skirt and smooth, fitted bodice are connected at the drop waist by three Swarovski crystal and gold beaded "belts."

The gold beading gives this dress a warmth that the more popular platinum simply can't muster. Your waist will be dripping in gold and crystals, the ultimate in luxury and decadence.

A stunning crepe georgette gown by Christian Dior, this dress is all about drama. The plunging V-neckline and dramatic pagoda sleeves add a heaping dose of sophistication. The embroidered crossover bodice hugs your body making this dress impossibly sexy while showing very little skin.

This silk satin gown by Tomasina is just decadent in its simplicity. More than a sleek mermaid gown, this dress has two details that pack a glamorous punch:
  • The detailed all-over pleating, which gives the impression that the bride is wrapped in delicate silk ribbon. The workmanship that goes into aligning all those tiers is exceptional.
  • The sweetheart neckline punctuated by a gorgeous brooch by Subversive Jewelry is an irresistible mixture of dainty and over-the top luxury - just like your dream wedding!

This dress by designer Cocoe Voci pairs new ideas with traditional materials for a look that's fresh without being too avant garde - because let's face it, most brides would prefer to look gorgeous over making some outrageous fashion statement on their wedding day.

The dress can be made with halter straps, but we've chosen to showcase the strapless version because we feel it works better with the the gorgeous braided lace detail at the bustline. The bodice is made of draped silk satin and is embellished with delicate crystals. The skirt is silk organza and is hemmed in the same intricate lace that decorates the bustline.

Detailed photos are after the jump.

We love this dress very, very much. It's perfect because it's glamorous yet gives you so many options to be comfortable:
  • Just look at it! It's elegant and goddess-like and you know you'll look gorgeous in it.
  • It has an empire bodice (so very in) but it has a wide adjustable sash, so you can show off your waist line and expand it as the night wears on (all we're saying is...you spent all that time on the menu - enjoy it!)
  • The material, crinkled silk chiffon with satin stripes, pairs two of the most popular bridal fabrics into a subtle yet elongating pattern to make you look as tall as you can. And it's easy to wear because you can't wrinkle it.
  • You can buy it off the rack for $360

The Clara by designer Claire Pettibone is a shining example of the Art Deco aesthetic that was so popular in the 1920s: The jeweled neck and belt are pure decadence, and the illusion back is embroidered in an "Egyptian" motif that recalls the geometric scrolling you'd find on the facade of a grand Art Deco hotel. The silhouette, a loose column with a dramatically dropped waist and skirt finished with a scalloped hemline was the height of flapper chic.

It's almost surprising that this dress is brand new and part of a 2008 collection. It's better than vintage!

The spectacular skirt in this dress by Tadashi has alternating tiers of satin and chiffon, accentuating the unusual high-low hemline. Pair this dress with ultra high heels and POW! You've created the illusion of extra-long legs. Who wouldn't want that?

The gorgeous shirred bodice is pinned with a rhinestone brooch at the natural waist; the v-neckline flatters all shapes - and at $378 your wallet will be flattered as well!
