If you're having a ring-bearer, how do you get the rings to the front without incident? The last thing you want is to reach down to the pillow held by that very sweet little boy, and find it ... empty!

There are several options.

1. Use fake rings. Keep the real rings in charge of a responsible adult. The rings on the pillow can come from a gumball machine! When he gets to the front, depending on this age, you'll either have him stand with you or go sit with his parents. He's just there to look cute, anyway!

2. Secure the rings to the pillow. Thread the rings onto a ribbon, and pin it to the pillow. You might even choose a pin with sentimental value!

Sometimes including small children in the wedding party is a bit risky. Your wee nephew is as cute as can be, but if there's an accident he can be part of, it'll happen! We all know kids like that. If you still want him part of the ceremony, but are worried that the rings might not make it safely down the aisle, you have a couple of options.

In this case, the clear winner is to give the boy fakes. This happens a lot, you know. Those are gumball machine rings on that pillow. But shhh! Don't tell him that!

Can we hear the heartfelt, "Awwwww...."? Isn't she just the cutest thing? It's not just the little blue bow or the wreath of flowers in her hair. It's not the sweet-as-can-be embroidery on the dress, or that darling wee basket. It's the concentration. That little darlin' has lost some of her petals, and she needs to get them back in the basket! We're so glad Vicki managed to catch this shot!

This is why we have very-junior members in our wedding parties, of course. Sometimes there's family politics involved, but mostly you choose the children because they're just so gosh-darn cute. Of course, at this age they're also unpredictable. It could be your flower girl will pick her nose down the aisle or completely balk and refuse to go at all. If you're willing to take the risk and go with the flow, though, you could very well end up with moments like this.

What's in a name? Well, sometimes quite a bit is in a title. So, technically single friends in the wedding party are your bridesmaids, but then what do you call married friends who stand up with you - bridesmatrons? Yuck. Attendants? Boring. Honorary bridefriends?

When you have to put it all in print on a program, it's good to give some thought to what to call your attendants. Here, brides at kvetch.indiebride.com toss out all of their suggestions for titling the wedding party, from the traditional to Arch Minion, Groomsmaiden, and Agent of Awesome. One creative bride gives each friend a different title - Maid of Good Sense, Maid of Adventure, etc. Before you set it in type, talk to your attendants about how they would like to see their title. And remember, a maid by any other name is still your friend.
