Meg Massie paid her way through college working as a store manager for a family jeweler in Virginia. She spent most of her time in this shop either learning about the jewelry biz or talking to couples about their relationships, engagements, and weddings. From traditional to totally off the wall, she's heard all kinds of wedding stories.
And, she's been there herself, too. She's been a flower girl, reader, bridesmaid, shower attendee, shower planner, bachelorette, and bride. She and her husband split amicably after a few years -- the wedding was beautiful; the marriage less so -- and now finds herself in a place she expects is quite familiar to most readers: very much in love and planning to be married for the second (and hopefully final) time.
She loves hearing and sharing stories, and her experiences in the bridal world -- both professional and personal -- give her lots of material for these conversations. Working at the jewelry store, she collected stories and tips from all sorts of brides, grooms, and their families. But her true areas of personal expertise are gemology and jewelry, having a wedding on a (really, really tight) budget, folk music, and competitive card games. The last two really have little to do with weddings, but no mini-biography on Meg Massie is complete without this information.
