Not communicating. Before you say "I do" discuss both your histories with money. Be up front about any debt lingering out there, your spending style, and goals you have in life that require money (like a big house, travel, going back to school, etc.). These discussions help you form a foundation on which you can make all of your money decisions. In this day and age couples can rarely have everything. It's important to know where your priorities are together.
