The Anastasia by Maggie Sottero is quite the popular dress (click here and here and here to see real brides wearing it) and we're not surprised - it's the quintessential bridal look. The one piece slim a-line gown has a sweetheart neckline and a corset bodice. The gown is scattered with beading and Swarovski crystals atop three tiers of floaty organza. A view of the corset is after the jump.

crystal drop cake topperThis is a very simple, yet striking cake topper. Not your traditional bride and groom, nor even a monograph, these delectable crystals hang suspended and glittering over your cake, catching the eye as they catch the light.

These drops are sold in a set of nine. You can place them all in the top layer, as shown in the picture, or you could set them at varying levels on a tiered cake.

They would also be very simple to make. A light to moderate gauge of wire, a pair of wire cutters and needle-nose pliers, and a handful of crystals in your choice of colors and sizes, and a reasonably steady hand, and you could have a set of these made in less than half an hour. Stunning!

You don't have to pay the earth to have luscious white jewels to adorn your bridal self -- and your bridesmaids, too. You can, of course, if you want to. But you don't have to.

What's white? Swarovski crystals offer a bit of glitter to your pale and pretty color scheme. Pearls are classics, too. But what about the mysterious, ethereal blue-white beauty of a moonstone or opals? You may have opted for a monochrome color scheme, but that doesn't mean you'll lack for choice!

Stop thinking of champagne flutes as just one more thing you need for your wedding. While you certainly can go out and spend a pretty penny on them, you can also find something completely appropriate well within your budget. And, whether you decide to toast with Waterford or Wal-mart brand, rest assured that your champagne flutes can be another example of your personal style.

Think about it -- why buy boring glasses that will just get shoved to the back of your cupboard? Pick something you love, something you will want to use long after the wedding -- believe us, if you have gorgeous glasses and a bottle of champagne around, you'll find a reason to celebrate!

Not sure what we mean by "fun" glasses? Look for unique colors and designs, maybe hand-blown or etched. When you see it, you'll know. To get some ideas, check out the gallery!
When it comes to bouquets, you've got so many choices that it might make your head spin. If you're going with flowers, what kind? And even if you won't be using flowers in your wedding decor, you've still got oodles of choices. Not to make your head spin even more, but we're going to show you just one more option that you have for bouquets.

The latest trend in non-floral bouquets is the crystal bouquet. They're sparkly, elegant, and won't make you sneeze. Designs made from Swarovski crystals are the most popular, and also most expensive. These bouquets will cost significantly more than a floral arrangement of the same size -- simpler bouquets start around $60, but the fancier ones can cost more like $500 each.

This website sells crystal bouquets with matching boutonnieres and corsages, and you can select the size and colors of each arrangement. The designs are not terribly complicated, but do look like they'd be time-consuming to create. Still, a crafty bride could probably save a fortune by purchasing supplies at a craft store and DIY-ing a bouquet like this.

Piccione sells the "luxury of pure silk" and this gown in silk satin is pure decadence. It shows off the lustrousness of silk with a ruched bodice that wraps around the body and straps that fall seductively off the shoulder. It's very a sophisticated and sexy look that can be worn at an elegant evening wedding. Wear it with silver bejewelled shoes to play off the crystal beading around the hip and on the shoulders.

Anyone who appreciates fine crystal knows the name Waterford. Waterford has been leading the industry for years, and their pieces are great for high end gifts of all kinds.

We're not being dramatic - when we saw the Accra gown in the Blue by Enzoani line we gasped a little. This dress makes us want to get married again! We love the empire bodice with the opulent Swarovski crystal detailing - it's just lovely. But what we love the most is that the tulle over beaded lace skirt manages to be both ethereal and throughly modern.

Enzoani is a bridal couture company based in southern California. The Blue line promises the couture look of Enzoani without the high cost. You can see the Accra dress in action (as well as others in the 2008 line) right here:

I'm not much of a homemaker, but I have to admit to loving Martha Stewart. That whole lifestyle image of the Well-Kept Home, where everything is clean and orderly and made from scratch is so appealing to me. Except for the part where I have to clean it and organize it and make it myself, of course.

For those of us who are not so much with the crafting or cooking but still want a little Martha, there's this: Stewart is teaming up with Wedgewood to produce a line of dishes, crystal, silver. The pieces, which will be available exclusively through Macy's, features 10 fine bone china patterns, six crystal stemware patterns, and six stainless steel flatware patterns, all based on Martha's own collection of fine china and stemware.

Many of the pieces are available by registry only. China patterns are available in five-piece settings with prices ranging from $99 - $159 per place setting.

The dishes are really lovely, and kind of make me wish I were getting married again. I wonder if you can register for anniversary gifts? Hmm.
Do I have the perfect pre-wedding get-together for you and your bridesmaids! It's fun, it's functional, it can take care of your gift to them, and it doesn't have to be terribly expensive. Drumroll, please ...

Make your own beaded jewelry with your bridesmaids! Ta da!

This isn't like when you went to summer camp as a kid and strung ugly beads on some fishing line. I'm talking about high quality beads (think Swarovski crystal and Kazuri beads, if you care to go high end) and beautiful detailed clasps and accessories. At the right establishment and with a little bit of assistance, you and your bridal party can create professional quality jewelry customized to each bridesmaid's dress and personal style, as well as bridal jewelry for yourself!

There are few things that can make you feel more a bridal princess than a bridal tiara. If you are the crafty sort, a tiara is probably well within your capabilities. Tiaras range from very simple to superbly ornate. Unless you are well-versed in beading and the use of wire-cutters, you'll probably choose simpler designs. And as we all know, simple can be beautiful.

There are a couple of ways to tackle this. You can get yourself a spool of silver or gold plated wire and a matching tiara band, some wire-cutters, a pair of pliers and a bag of beads, and go wild. You can find some good, basic instructions for a simple but lovely tiara here. Give yourself time to experiment and learn. Start simple, and build up to more ornate designs, till you've found the one for you.

If you prefer more directions, there are many excellent kits out there. You can find just about any style you want, and in all sorts of difficulty levels. Check out the picture below for inspiration. If you calculate a dollar value on the time spent creating it, as well as the cost of the kit, you may not be saving a lot (if any) money, but the satisfaction of making a thing of beauty is payment in full!
