British singer Leona Lewis has said before that her boyfriend, Lou Al-Chamaa, is "the one" and that she hopes to marry him in the future, but she has also stated that she's still too young to be concerned with marriage and kids just yet. However, she was spotted with a suspicious sparkler on her ring finger when she was out on the town the other night, fueling the engagement rumors that were already running rampant.

Leona and Lou have been dating for six years, since Leona was just 17 years old, and she says, "Me and Lou are good friends and I think that's the important thing, that we're friends and that we have a laugh together." He supported her when she auditioned for X Factor, which is what propelled her to the super-stardom she now enjoys.

The couple currently live together in a flat in Hackney, and though her rep says the rumors absolutely aren't true, we're still wishing them happiness and good wishes.
Before we even get started, we want to urge you to take this piece of "news" with a grain of salt -- it sounds a lot like a publicity stunt. But, our job is to fill you in on the buzz, so here we go.

Rumors are flying about the possibility of Lindsay Lohan being engaged to her openly gay gal pal, DJ Samantha Ronson. In Cannes last week, the pair were said to have shared a passionate kiss at a party, although the infamous picture shows little more than a hug. And, there's the fact that Lindsay's mom and sister recently made a public statement that Lindsay was not a lesbian, although the family knows and likes Samantha.

However, sources are saying that LiLo is referring to herself as Lindsay Ronson, and she was spotted sporting this suspicious diamond ring on her engagement finger at Dolce & Gabbana party in Cannes:
we're never watching Mean Girls again. Got that, Lindsay? Never!

We have to say, up front, that we love Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal -- they're just so cute! and charming! and nice looking! As in, they look like such nice people. And they're both pretty attractive, too.

Now we're hearing rumors that Jake may be getting ready to pop The Question, and we couldn't be happier. Friends of the couple told OK! magazine that Jake and Reese have "been talking marriage for a while. They'll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together." The same friend has said that the couple are both fairly traditional and conservative, and that they won't live together until they are married.

We find that kind of charming, actually. Now we're just waiting to hear that they're ready to get married.

Reports are circulating that proud new parents Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry are engaged. As a matter of fact, the rumors actually state that he proposed to her with his grandmother's engagement ring to show her how much she means to him and his family.

There's only one problem with the story -- she may be wearing a sparkler, but she's vowed never to marry again. Actually, she has said that she feels more married to Gabriel than she has felt to either of her two ex-husbands and doesn't see any reason to make the relationship official.

We think it's more likely that he gave her the ring as a symbol of commitment, but not necessarily as an engagement ring. They wouldn't be the only celebrity couple to abstain from becoming legally wed. Perhaps they, like Brad and Angelina, consider their child the most important bond they can share.

Jennifer Lopez' 6-carat pink diamond engagement ring from Ben Affleck may not still be on her finger, but it's still one of the most famous diamonds in Hollywood. She may sing "My love don't cost a thing," but this radiant-cut rock with white diamond accents on either side allegedly set Ben back a cool $1.2 million.

It's one of the most copied rings in the world, with CZ imitations selling like hotcakes during the couple's doomed engagement. Still, this pink diamond is truly one of a kind.

It seems that everything about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' relationship has been completely over-the-top, and the bling is no exception. When Tom proposed to Katie atop the Eiffel Tower in June 2005, he gave her this five-carat oval-shaped diamond set in platinum and rose gold, surrounded by smaller diamonds in a pavé setting. The rose gold, which has a shiny rust color, is not used often in jewelry and gives this ring a unique look (as if a five-carat diamond is not unique!). Nearly as wide as Katie's slender finger, this weighty gem sits high and constantly flops to the side of her finger due to its massive size.

As Kristen reported earlier today, Scarlett Johansson and longtime beau Ryan Reynolds have made The Big Commitment. No, they're not married, they're engaged, but let's face it, the REAL commitment is to the ring. And if this ring is any indication, they're off to a good start here.

Johannson's ring is a simple solitaire, nothing too over-the-top. This week at the Met Museum's Costume Gala, she paired the ring with a sheer shimmery body lotion and an antique bracelet, both of which were the perfect backdrop for her sparkler.

She also kept her nails short and her manicure simple, which is always a good choice.

Now if we could JUST do something about her DRESS ...

Paris is no longer wearing boyfriend (or fiance) Benji Madden's "BM" diamond ring on her all-important finger (thank goodness, because we really had a hard time stifling our giggles every time we saw it). But, that doesn't mean her finger is bare.

P-Hilt has been spotted sporting something new, big, and sparkly on her second finger in. Adding a bit of fuel to this fire is the fact that Paris' older sis, Nicky, was seen picking up a book on weddings a week or so ago.

Plus, Benji has already told the media that he wouldn't "bet against" an engagement between himself and the overexposed heiress before the year is out. What do you think? Engagement ring or just another bauble for Miss Hilton?

Bulgari is synonymous with Italian luxury. It was started in 1884 by a Greek immigrant named Sotirios Vulgaris (he later changed his name to Bulgari) and the flagship store (pictured above) opened in Rome in 1905. Bulgari jewelry is not for the meek - it's a greco-roman fantasy of precious metals and large stones. They're known for bold designs and old-world decadence, so we thought it would be fitting to highlight them during Aisledash's luxury week.

Long a favorite of movie stars and the jet set, Bulgari has designed a line of engagement and marriage rings perfect for the bride who's not afraid to dazzle.

It's said that "A diamond is forever," and while that slogan has been huge for jewelry retailers, most of them hope you'll adopt the unspoken follow-up into your jewelry philosophy. The full saying is, of course, "A diamond is forever -- until you can afford a bigger one."

Most major jewelry retailers offer trade-in programs where you can exchange your original purchase toward something bigger and better down the road -- provided that you're trading up to something at least twice the value. (This is the Zales policy, which is pretty standard throughout the industry.)

This sounds like a nice idea for the couple who doesn't have the money to buy what they want when they're first engaged, but we have to wonder -- doesn't an engagement ring (no matter the size of the rock) have huge sentimental value? Is this something one could really trade in? Grooms, how would you feel about your bride trading up for something "better" than what you first gave her? Tell us what you think!

How do you feel about the idea of trading in your engagement ring?

In the sad event of a broken engagement, who owns the ring? While etiquette says that the woman should return it, the law is not so unequivocal. Is it a gift, free and clear? Is it a conditional gift, to be returned if the conditions aren't met? It depends on where you live. According to the folks at I Do Now I Don't, in Kansas and Missouri, it's considered a gift; in New York and New Mexico, it's conditional.

And the weirdest of all? In Texas and Washington, the person who broke the engagement keeps the ring. Picture that, if you will: "Honey, I've decided I can't marry you after all. Please give me back the ring." Or the reverse, "Darling, I'm just not ready to be married. I'm keeping the ring."

Not YOU, of course! We know that your love is true and will last a lifetime! But there are those couples who, for one reason or another, decide that marriage is not the right decision after all. And then one of you will be left with the ring.

What to do? What you will not do is toss the thing off the nearest cliff in a fit of rage. While it might seem therapeutic in the moment, odds are good that in a few weeks you may come to regret that decision. You could have the ring re-sized for a different finger, or put into a different setting which doesn't scream "ENGAGEMENT" quite so obviously.

Or you could go to I Do, Now I Don't and auction it off. You'll be rid of a painful reminder, and, if you're the former bride-to-be, you'll be a few dollars richer. If you're the former groom-to-be, you won't likely recoup the entire purchase price, but even if your heart is broken, at least your bank account will be a little happier.
Two years ago for Christmas my husband gave me a laptop. My mother-in-law was horrified; she kept asking, "Wouldn't you rather have a DIAMOND?" But I am a geek and I could not have been happier, or more in love with my husband.

And that is why I would have ADORED this uber-cool Jennifer Flume engagement ring: it's a USB flash drive contained in a Swarovsky crystal setting. Sadly, the ring is not yet available for purchase, but if you (or your beloved) is a tech geek, keep your eyes on this one; it could be the perfect proposal gift.

According to TFTS, the idea behind the ring is this: "each of you can carry around pictures of each other (or poems, credit card receipts, or whatever) which, once the rings are joined, can be transferred between both rings in an act of union. And, if you happen to want to transfer the contents of your ring (a phrase we really ought to avoided) to a PC you can do so thanks to a supplied necklace that sports a standard USB port, a mini USB port as well as two 'sharing ports'." There is also a necklace option, for those of you who like the idea but don't want to make a long-term commitment.

I love this -- but maybe that's just me. What say you -- is this the next big thing, or too geeky to even contemplate?

Five reasons you need to learn how to tie a Tiffany bow:

1. Your wedding theme is Tiffany and Co

2. You just had to take a peek at the ring before giving it to her and now you can't get the bow to look right (argh!)

3. You're throwing a Breakfast at Tiffany's shower

4. You want your favors to look like the precious little tokens of appreciation that they are.

5. You've always wondered - "How DO they get them to look so pretty?"

There is nothing quite like opening one of those little blue boxes from Tiffany's! When I was planning our wedding I wanted to wrap our favors (simple candies) in pretty little ivory boxes and tie them up in a Tiffany bow. I thought it would be simple, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get the bow to look right. After many frustrating attempts (and maybe a few tears), I went to my local Tiffany's and asked for help. Did you know that there actually is a special technique - and that they will teach it to you if you ask?

We've put together a step-by-step tutorial for you (with pictures!), in case you just can't bring yourself to ask in person. We promise that with a little practice you'll be a bow-tying maven in no time at all.

Step 9

At this point, your bow will probably look pretty crappy. Thats fine - just loosen and recenter it:

Step 10

...tighten again:

Step 11

Trim the edges of the ribbon and...

...Voila! You have a perfectly executed Tiffany bow:
