Rumor has it that Heroes actor Milo Ventimiglia, 31, has been ring shopping for his co-star and girlfriend, 18-year-old old Hayden Panettiere. Sources have even gone so far as to claim that he's favoring Cartier and plans to spend around $200,000.

While it sounds like Hayden could be in for a fabulous rock, we have to wonder if, at 18, she's really ready to be engaged. It doesn't seem unlikely that Milo is at that point in his life -- he's probably totally ready to settle down and start a family. But, even if his more diminutive half seems mature for her age, 18 just seems awfully young.

What about you? What do you think about engagements and age? Leave your answer in the poll, or let us know in the comments!

At 18, is Hayden too young to be engaged?

Each week it seems Kate Middleton and Prince William are inching closer and closer to announcing an engagement. This week is no exception (and it's only Wednesday!).

The latest reports have Kate attending Prince William's installation as Royal Knight of the Garter -- this was the first time she had attended "a formal and official Royal public occasion," and she was all smiles and she stood next to her possible future brother-in-law, Harry. She arrived in an official car and then joined the Royal family.

Additionally, Kate's mother has reportedly received an invitation to meet the Queen in the Royal box at Ascot on Ladies' Day during this week's race meeting. Should the Mrs. Middleton accept, it would be the first official meeting between the Queen and Kate's mom.

Kate's mom has been the source of some discussion, especially when Kate and Wils broke up last year. It was rumored that the Queen liked Kate and her father well enough, but that Kate's mother didn't quite fit and was seen as a motivated social-climber. Whether there's any real truth to those rumors or not, it's obvious enough that Kate and Wils are progressing forward in their relationship, and we're all just waiting for the engagement announcement (and pictures of the ring, of course).

He may have said he wasn't shopping for rings back in March, but sometime between then and now he obviously did -- Timberwolves shooting guard Marko Jaric proposed to Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima on her 27th birthday on Thursday. After approximately nine months of dating, he presented her with a ring, popped the question, and she said yes.

Adriana is famous not only for her ability to look fabulous in the tiniest of lingerie but also for her dating history. She dated musician Lenny Kravitz as well as Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees. And, despite having dated such hotties, the model insists she's remaining a virgin until marriage.

One thing is certain -- the girl will have no problem finding some sexy lingerie for her wedding night!

At a time when most girls her age are contemplating summer jobs and college, Jamie Lynn Spears is preoccupied with the impending birth of her first child and a marriage to a man with whom she can't seem to get along.

Rumors are circulating (courtesy of Star magazine, so it's uncertain how reliable they are) that 17-year-old Jamie Lynn has called off her wedding to 19-year-old Casey Aldridge, the father of her unborn child. According to their sources, the couple has been arguing about everything, "from what to name the baby to what to eat for dinner. And now she's called off their wedding plans."

Jade Jagger's DJ boyfriend, Dan Williams, has marriage on his mind. He's been dating Mick Jagger's 36-year-old daughter for five years, and says, "I'm designing a ring for Jade. I've decided it's time to ask her to marry me. I've been married before, but I'll do it again. Jade's a very special woman."

Jade, an English model, jewelry designer, and socialite (and the only child resulting from the marriage between Mick and Bianca Jagger), has two daughters from a previous relationship with Piers Jackson, but has never been married.

The couple lives in both London and on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza, so it's anyone's guess as to what kind of wedding they'll have. The only thing we're pretty sure about is that it will be fabulous.
Kate Middleton might have found her prince, but before she can marry him, she needs to find one more thing -- a proper job. The Queen, who has met Kate (or Catherine, as we're supposed to start calling her now), thinks she's a perfectly lovely girl but is concerned about her lack of serious employment.

It's something she has discussed with her grandson, Prince William, and so even though Wils and Kate recently returned from a romantic holiday among speculation that he proposed while away, the Queen feels a proposal right now would be premature. According to a source, the Queen "is very concerned about what the repercussions could be if Kate is not in a stable job as and when William is ready to propose."

Ugh. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are engaged. Again. Sort of

The couple first agreed to swap vows (instead of just the usual saliva and other grossness) last year after Spencer proposed to her on an episode of The Hills, but after they realized they didn't agree on absolutely everything, Heidi decided she wasn't ready to get married. The couple remained together, though, and have sought publicity from nearly every conceivable angle.

While it has been widely rumored that Harrison Ford popped the question to his girlfriend, Calista Flockhart, on April Fool's Day (either 2007 or 2008, depending on the source), the couple's rep is denying the engagement.

The Indiana Jones star, 65, first met the erstwhile Ally McBeal in 2002 and have been dating happily ever since. However, Harrison has two divorces under his belt, one of which cost him $100 million, so it's understandable that he might be a little hesitant to take a third trip down the aisle.

We're going to go ahead and hope that he's just putting the proposal on hold so he can film one more Indiana Jones movie before getting hitched. Wishful thinking, perhaps, but we're hoping all the same.

She's engaged and she's just SO EXCITED!!! She has The Ring, and she just can't stop showing it off. (It's really very cute, how excited she is.) She could be your best girlfriend, your sister, your co-worker, your cousin ...

Whoever she is, let her know you share her excitement (and maybe tease her, just a little bit) by giving her this super-bling engagement ring keychain. The princess-cut 'diamond' is fake, of course, but there are wee little rhinestones for glitter on the attached teeny wedding band, and the whole thing comes in a nice velvet pouch. If you can give it in fond affection, this would be a great gift for the newly engaged.

It looks like the MTV reality show, Flavor of Love, has seen its final days (and not a moment too soon -- sheesh!). Flavor Flav is engaged and off the market, but his fiancee isn't one of the women from his show -- she's the mother of his youngest son.

The expectation of the final episode of Season 3, which aired on Memorial Day in the U.S., was that Flavor Flav would propose to Thing 2 (yes, really), but instead he brought out his youngest son, Karma, and Karma's mom, Liz. He got down on one knee and said, "By me doing these shows, everything that I've been looking for in a woman, it's been right here within you all the time. Let me ask you this, will you marry me?"

Liz was thrilled to accept, and Thing 2 was crushed. We shook our heads in bewilderment at the whole thing.
Dear Ask AisleDash,

My fiance and my friends have never really been best buddies, but I never thought things would get so bad. Now that my wedding is getting close, my friends decided they can't let me go through with it, and they actually staged an intervention! They basically cornered me and made me listen for an hour while they listed all the reasons my fiance is a bad person and how I'm making a horrible mistake, and they all said that none of them will ever respect me if I go through with this. I cried the whole time but they were relentless and really mean. My fiance and I love each other and they just don't know him well. Plus I don't think this is any of their business. Now I'm embarrassed and I hate them for doing this to me. I feel like I don't have any friends now, except my fiance. I'm really worried now that on what is supposed to be the happiest day of my life, all the people I'm close to will disown me. How do I let my friends know that they're wrong?

~Engaged to a good guy

Dear Engaged,

It sounds like your friends are a bunch of jerks. This is no way to express concern for a friend -- compassion is key, and it doesn't sound like they gave you that. Even though you didn't tell me what the friends said, your story raises a red flag. Either this was an uncharacteristically cruel way for your friends to treat you, or you surround yourself with jerks. Does that mean that your friends might be right about your fiance?

British singer Leona Lewis has said before that her boyfriend, Lou Al-Chamaa, is "the one" and that she hopes to marry him in the future, but she has also stated that she's still too young to be concerned with marriage and kids just yet. However, she was spotted with a suspicious sparkler on her ring finger when she was out on the town the other night, fueling the engagement rumors that were already running rampant.

Leona and Lou have been dating for six years, since Leona was just 17 years old, and she says, "Me and Lou are good friends and I think that's the important thing, that we're friends and that we have a laugh together." He supported her when she auditioned for X Factor, which is what propelled her to the super-stardom she now enjoys.

The couple currently live together in a flat in Hackney, and though her rep says the rumors absolutely aren't true, we're still wishing them happiness and good wishes.

First things first -- Kate Middleton would like for us all to refer to her as Catherine from here on out. She has always been called Catherine by friends and family, and it was only after her relationship with Prince William was confirmed that the media started calling her Kate. Until now, she's let it go, but suddenly she's making a request that her proper (and more queenly) name be used. And as far as we're concerned, that can only mean one thing ...

A proposal must be coming!!!

Wils and Catherine are currently vacationing at the very exclusive, very private, and very lavish Villa Alumbrera on Mustique Island in the Caribbean -- a perfect place for a romantic proposal. The couple has the villa booked until tomorrow, and as of yet have not commented on the engagement rumors. Once they return, the prince will begin a three month attachment with the Royal Navy. And that would give Catherine a good head start on making wedding plans ...
Actor/producer/director/legend Robert Redford has announced his engagement to his girlfriend, German artist Sibylle Szaggars. The two have been dating since 1996 and live on an eco-friendly ranch in Utah.

It's being reported that Redford's three children from his previous marriage have welcomed the news, but we can probably expect that to be the last of the news to trickle out about the actor's marriage plans. He's notorious for being fiercely private about his personal life -- the man kept the break-up of his first marriage a secret for nearly 10 years!

Redford, 71, did say this about Szaggars, who is 19 years younger: "We are engaged and very happy with that. Sibylle is my fiancee and that says everything, doesn't it?"
They might not be household names in your home, but Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor are new but major Bollywood stars, and they have announced their engagement. Or maybe they haven't.

Most sites are saying the engagement rumors are confirmed -- just one or two are saying it's a lie -- and it's actually not terribly recent news. Deepika stated that Ranbir actually proposed to her after their debut releases last November, and that she "happily said yes." She also said they had the blessings of their parents, so her dreams of becoming "Mrs. Kapoor and the leading lady of Bollywood" in the next five years might just come true.

Speaking of dreams come true, the couple's relationship sounds like just that. It was love at first sight, but they tried not to put too much pressure on their relationship so that the could give their love "time to grow." And, we feel confident that, should this wedding take place, it will be a spectacular event, so rest assured we'll keep you up to date!
