Scroll invitations are a great way to set the scene for your renaissance wedding. They have an 'olde worlde' charm and add a wonderfully fun element to an already fabulous wedding theme.

We've found an Etsy seller, Handykane, who has masses of enchanting scroll invitations, in many different styles and themes, that would give just the right first impression to your guests, and whisk them back into times gone by.

The invitations are printed on parchment that has been treated for an authentic ancient paper look. They're sold in packs of 50, together with matching envelopes, and most also include a printed seal on the envelopes. Prices are from $49.99 per pack, depending on the design.

Check out the gallery below for a small sample of Handykane's scroll invitations.

Many of us dream of a beach wedding but sometimes, for various reasons (finances, logistics), the more land-locked among us can't actually make it to the beach to say our vows. Here's a bride at weddingchannel.com with important family members who are unable to travel to the coast. Her solution? Bring that beachy look and feel to her wedding right at home. With your dress, decorations, favors, cake design, even music and other sound effects, you can create a relaxing coastal climate just about anywhere, and you won't even need to put on sunscreen. One post even suggested building a sandbox for the bride, groom, and officiant to stand in during the ceremony.

Butterflies featured prominently at Peter Phillips wedding earlier this month, and will also be a magical highlight at Coleen McLoughlin's forthcoming nuptials to English footballer, Wayne Rooney. They are lovely, aren't they! However, although butterflies are a popular wedding theme, not everybody wants the real thing fluttering around and pretty copies can be just as beautiful.

One Etsy seller who makes exquisite stick on butterflies is, (but what else?), Stick On Butterflies. The Australian-based family business has been lovingly hand-crafting their butterfly creations for 15 years, from design to decoration to actually cutting the designs out by hand.

The butterflies can be stuck on wedding invitations and placement cards, pinned to candles, placed on your wedding cake and popped inside floral arrangements. Or, you could decorate your reception venue with some of these gorgeous butterfly suncatchers.

If you want to match the butterflies to your wedding colours then simply send in a swatch of the fabric you want them matched to and they will do the rest. Alternatively, you can choose from their current range, which includes over 20 different designs.

The wedding package consists of 100 small butterflies and costs $100. It's an easy, and affordable, way to bring butterflies into your theme.

Let's face it: Las Vegas doesn't have the best image when it comes to weddings. Elvis impersonators and drive-through chapels aren't every girl's dream of the perfect wedding day. But there's more to Vegas than just drunken I do's. Las Vegas has a whole culture, one that is big and bright and full of cool retro inspiration for your wedding day.

This week at AisleDash, we'll show you how to have a Vegas-inspired wedding that steers clear of tacky and cliche. We'll bring you great Vegas-themed invitations, party favors, gowns, and music, and we'll take a look at some memorable celebrity Vegas nuptials. We'll even tell you how to find an Elvis impersonator in YOUR town, if you want to go that route.

Still wanting to elope? We've got you covered there, too!

Wedded Bits tells you how to become the next Modern Bride of the Year. Do you think you'll make the cut?

Oh Happy Blog! has some interesting thoughts on venues and themes -- don't make your space look like something. Make it be something!

Manolo for the Brides has a post about one of the most unusual materials ever used for a wedding dress ... and it's SOOO romantic!

The force was strong at the wedding of Bramwell Brightey and his girlfriend, Tamsyn Lofts. The couple dressed as Han Solo and Princess Leia from the Star Wars movies for their wedding, and were witnessed by Obi Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca, Storm Troopers, and other members of the rebel alliance.

The couple had a wedding cake in the shape Jedi master Yoda, and rather than a first dance, they opted for a light saber duel. They originally wanted to have the wedding on May 4th so their invitations could read, "May the 4th be with you." These are some clever Star Wars nerds!

Why Star Wars? The couple has shared a love of the films all their lives, and since neither of them were church-going folks (actually, the groom said he gets bored sitting in church and listening to hymns), they felt it would be "a bit hypocritical" to have a church wedding. So, they worked for a year on this wedding, flying special costumes to Surrey from America, and ended up having a wonderful time, with the groom saying, "Everyone made an extra special effort and without them, the force would not have been so strong."
Every couple wants their wedding to be personal -- a reflection of their tastes and interests and passions. But sometimes getting what you want can be difficult when the market is geared toward giving you what everyone else wants (or what a marketing expert THINKS everyone else wants).

This week is exquisitely handmade week at AisleDash; we'll bring you suggestions and how-tos for various wedding projects, as well as information about how to find vendors and artisans who can create one-of-a-kind pieces to make your special day even more special. Because we understand that your wedding should be personal and beautiful, and having things that have been hand-crafted just for you is one way to do that.

And don't forget to check our DIY category for even more ideas of how to make your wedding truly personal!
If you've chosen Paris as your wedding destination, you are in for quite a romantic backdrop. There are few -- if any -- places more romantic than "The City of Light." Paris is obviously known for the romance it evokes, but it's also known for a few other things: culture, terrace cafes and art (just to name a few).

If your wedding day will be held in Paris, France, your romantic theme (thankfully!) can also extend to your invitations. You can choose a simple, classic invite or something with a French toile pattern or, even, one with the Eiffel Tower accenting it.

For a few more Parisian invitation style suggestions, take a look at the gallery below.

Here at AisleDash, we spend a lot of time thinking about fabulous places to get married, and we can't think of a more romantic spot than Paris. But we also know that most of you won't be jetting off to Paris to tie the knot, and so this week we're going to show you how to bring Paris home. We'll help you plan your own Paris wedding, with suggestions for food and drink and music -- and of course gowns and favors. Everything you need to fall in love with Paris!

And keep in mind that should you find yourself really planning to be married in Paris, we know a great wedding planner!

If you are planning a "Roaring 20s" wedding, your reception is likely to be one funky (and fun!) party with groovy jazz playing and bridesmaids donning flashy, flapper-like outfits. In order to stay true to the heart of the era when Art Deco peaked and culture came roaring back to America you will want to find an invitation to send that looks and feels authentic.

First, visit Olivia Stationery, an online store out of the United Kingdom that offers a few original designs that will perfectly capture the feel of your "Roaring 20s" wedding. Or try Decodent Dezigns, a site specializing in Art Deco wedding invitations and save-the-date cards in a variety of styles and colors.

In addition to those two must-visit sites, there are a few more invitations sprinkled around the Internet that you'll definitely want to glance at if you're planning a "Roaring 20s" wedding. Check out the gallery to get a sneak preview of them.

If flapper fashion was an androgynous style that strove to make women look young, boyish and free-spirited then the hairstyles they sported had to reflect that too.

The initial bob, which at the time was simply a blunt cut, level with the bottom of the ears, was either worn with a fringe or pushed back off the forehead. The Shingle bob, which came into fashion in the mid-20's, was cut into a V at the nape of the neck, with finger waves (or marcel waves) on both sides.

You can try to do it yourself, there are instructions here, and here, but it does look complicated and not something we'd recommend you do on your wedding day, unless you've perfected the technique through practising, and possibly also invested in a Marcel curling iron.

You could also compromise and go for a style that reflects the spirit of the era without being rigidly exact. Kirsten Dunst pulled off this look quite successfully by combining the essence of the waved Bob with a contemporary cut. So did this real bride. Or copy this look from Brides.com.

You've been planning your perfect pink-and-brown wedding for months. You've had a pretty pink-and-brown bridal shower with invitations to match. You've chosen your bridesmaids gifts. You've even spent some time shopping for your wedding weekend attire (to match your theme, of course). And now the wedding is just around the corner, and it's time to invite your guests. Of course your pink-and-brown theme should expand to include your wedding invitations and why not as some of the most stunning invitations out there come in the pink-and-brown feminine and eye-catching color combination that's so popular these days.

There are so many invitations to choose from, you are sure to find the exact one to suit the tone and feel of your particular wedding day. The gallery has a quite a few invitations to glance at, and each one will brighten up your friends and family's fridges.

Planning a western-theme shower for the bride (and groom)? Or maybe you're a genuine western bride! Perhaps you're even planning a horseback wedding.

Before you ride off into the sunset with your beloved, you'll want to make sure everyone knows who's who. How better to identify the main players and stay with the theme than these his'n'hers -- er, bride'n'groom -- cowboy hats?

The white hat is the bride's (of course!), labeled in "diamanette" studs, while the manly black hat declares "groom" on a suitably masculine leather plate. Happy Western Wedding, you two!
Planning a beach wedding? What better memento could you give your guests than these personalized shells? Each sun and moon shell is engraved with a laser, with your names and/or a special message.

Personally, we think you might want to opt for your own phrase. If you don't, the default message that will come on your shells is the very punny "Our Love Shell Last Forever." Shell last! Get it? Get it???
